Oftentimes items that aren't fairly traded severely cheat third world farmers, with practices that are often little better than modern-day slavery.
Whole Foods houses many fair trade items, and there are many other ethical merchants doing the same.

The more we make sure our sugar, chocolate, coffee, and other staples are fairly traded, the sooner it will become so commonplace no one will have to worry about the "little Guy" having rightful earnings taken.
