Nails reveal a great deal about our personality and our health. Composed of Keratin (a protein) and minerals, nails protect our fingertips, and rely on the supplies of protein, B vitamins, vitamin A, Calcium, Zinc, Iron and Iodine we take in. Without proper nutrients nails will communicate deficiencies on the surface. Deficiencies can take place because we are not keeping nourishing diets, or because our bodies may have difficulty assimilating nutrients. Glandular issues such as hyper-thyroidism can contribute to unhealthy nails that are either too soft, dry and brittle, spotted, ingrown, stricken with fungus or more.
